Vega Stealth Helmet Review
by Bobby Bryant

I had the chance to test out the new 2011 Vega Stealth Helmet and was happily impressed with the product.  From the look and feel to the ultra light design, this helmet has both form and function.  I received a lot of compliments while wearing it from other off-road enthusiasts.  The helmet exceeds US DOT standard and is also certified to European standard, too.

As I mentioned, I was very happy with the look of this helmet.  The flat black carbon fiber shell is very modern looking and aerodynamic as well as ultra light in weight.  Another rider had a similar helmet but when we compared them, the Stealth was much lighter than his, hands down.  The graphics are also modern looking and go well with the flat black finish of the shell.  The removable visor is a nice addition to the helmet and provides enough shade during those sunny rides.

Another bonus of the helmet for those hot rides are the air intake vents near the forehead that allow cool air to flow through the helmet out of the back through rear exhaust.  I could feel the air and it did make a difference riding in the Texas heat.  The liner is also very easy to remove and washable and a lighter color to help with the heat absorption.   There are also vents in the face cover covered with a screen like material to block some of the dust.  The over sized eye opening also allows air to flow through the helmet to provide a lot of comfort when riding as well as maximize peripheral vision while riding.  This is also beneficial when wearing goggles as they fit nicely in place.  There are also grooves along the sides to help keep your goggles in place while riding.  At the back of the helmet on the base of the bottom, there is a neck restraint that also has a beading that will rest comfortably on a neck protector.
The Vega lived up to all my expectations and then some.  Overall, the Vega Stealth Helmet is a comfortable, sleek, modern, ultra lightweight, cool, fun, head-turning helmet that feels great, looks great, and rides great and lives up to the Vega name as another quality product in their growing portfolio.
